Fireplace Painting in Chelsea 10011

While initially a hood-like barrier of stone or wood to trap and direct smoke up a chimney in medieval times, fireplace mantles have evolved into aesthetic components. The sides and top of any mantle does still function as a protective piece between the fire and the walls adjacent to it. And its value in creating a focal point is unparalleled.

Fireplaces initially provided a single source of heat and indoor place for cooking with wood or coal as primary fuel. Today’s fireplaces offer additional choices of gas, electricity or pellets for fuel and provide warmth, style and ambience like nothing else can do. Our team painted this beautiful living room, after caulking a few gaps in the attractive wall molding, in Simple White matte. This clean, crisp Benjamin Moore product evokes simplicity and sophistication at the same time.

We painted all the trim, too, in the satin version of the same warm white, but the star of this project is the elegant mantlepiece. We ever so carefully assembled and installed this phenomenal fireplace and mantle. It might be an understatement to say this architecturally-creative mantle raises the bar on fireplace surrounds in all of Manhattan.
