Creative Striped Hallway in Brooklyn 11238

Fresh paint delivers so many advantages. From an emotional angle, it can lift one’s spirits, change the atmosphere of a room, make remote work more appealing in a clean environment and increase creativity and relaxation. Functionally, it protects wall materials and hides imperfections. The low-VOC paints are reputed to improve indoor air quality and property value, and it’s affordable.

These benefits were well understood by a recent Brooklyn client who needed exactly the kind of lift and value that newly painted interiors convey. For the bedroom, the most popular color in the world for its vast presence in nature was chosen, a shade of green. Here it’s Farrow & Ball’s Calke Green, the color found in England’s Calke Abbey, a 600-acre country estate surrounded in natural greenery. The bedroom ceiling was painted with Lime White, a soft, enduring white.

A really fun – and challenging – project here was painting vertical stripes, precisely 7.5 inches wide, in alternating Tallow and Yellow Ground paint colors in the hallway. Tallow is the lighter one, a creamy version of white, while Yellow Ground is a sunny color of medium yellow. This is one very happy, artistic, interesting hall. Our professional paint crew then spruced up the walls and ceiling in the kitchen with School House White, a soft white which reflects light and makes the whole kitchen bright and inviting. It does not command much attention while offering the clean, simple backdrop over the cabinets.
