The words “I can see clearly now …” may conjure up the song by Johnny Nash in 1971. It was more about emotional “seeing” than looking through glass, but seeing clearly through windows is also a great delight. One looks out the window, perhaps, but peripheral vision can take in the window frames. If they are dingy, nicked, peeling or otherwise in need of refinishing, well, it can dull the overall experience of gazing on the cityscape view.
The prep for a project like this is extensive for protecting all the glass and areas around the frames. Tape, brown paper and drop cloths are just the beginning before we land with the specific cleansers, solutions, coatings and tools for the job. Here, two walls of an expansive room were all windows, well over a dozen windows, small ones beneath large ones.
From there, we clean, rub, polish and seal every inch on every side of every frame.
