Galvanized steel is carbon steel to which a layer of zinc has been applied as a barrier, protecting the metal from the elements and accidental marring and scratching. The often metallic, crystallized surface pattern is called spangle. From outdoor furniture to roofing, structural components and automotive body panels, galvanized steel is a strong, durable metal.
For these inside and outside rolling gates and the exterior top vent, our expert crew cleaned everything with a potent solvent, lightly scarifying the surface before applying a coat of special bonding primer. The rich coats of pure black paint adhered to that, and then finish coatings to maintain color and add layers of protection were sprayed four or five times.
We meticulously painted the words “Events & Workspace” in white for the contrast and identification. Once the center for the garment and fashion industry, this circa 1910 building on 7th Avenue sports a mix of commercial and residential spaces.
