Midtown Manhattan Painting

Painting in Hudson Yards 10018

It’s about a 6-hour drive from New York City to Martha’s Vineyard, seven miles off the Massachusetts coast. One of the first explorers on the roughly 20-mile long and 9-mile wide island was a Brit named Bartholomew Gosnold. Both his daughter and mother-in-law were named Martha, and paired with the wild grapevines, he is credited with the name. So, it’s no wonder this island paradise, frequented by the rich and famous, would have a paint color named for it.

Part of Benjamin Moore’s Classic Color Collection, Martha’s Vineyard is a “dark, distinguished forest green that offers a hint of welcoming warmth.” Green is the most abundant natural color on earth, and it brings an outside component to the inside. This lush hue adds visual interest that speaks of gentle woodlands and summer treetops.

The homeowner in Midtown Manhattan decided not to overwhelm a bedroom, but to add two accent walls which would naturally stand out against the rest of the space. In general, an accent wall or two garner much more attention and make a bigger impact than an entire room in one color. Green also can evoke good luck (think shamrocks), youth and generosity. Bonne chance!
