Fifth Avenue, the 6.2-mile street renown for luxury shopping and historic landmarks, is also home to many a Manhattan dweller. Soaring skyscrapers and iconic attractions mingle comfortably with high-rise residences, museums and parks. Going to work here is the respite one craves from the busy days. 

The management here sought to upgrade a bedroom wall with new paint, new color, new depth and some squares. In geometry, the square is a regular quadrilateral with four straight sides of equal length. There is something predictable and even comforting in a square.

We marked the wall with accurate measurements, painted the wall, installed wood trim in perfect squares and painted over that. Along the way, even our crew fell in love with the rich Deep Royal paint from Benjamin Moore. Billed as a distinguished navy blue reminiscent of dark skies, verging on black. We could certainly see how this can enhance a saccharine, sleepy vibe. We did not fall asleep on the job, however. We never do, just so you know.
