Pound Ridge in the eastern edge of Westchester County has a storied history across more than four centuries. It was incorporated in 1788, and after many years of uncertainty about the name, the Town Board declared it to be two words, Pound Ridge, 1948. It saw action in the Revolutionary War and in the mid -1800s, the population touched 1,500. By 1920, things changed when the resident count dipped to around 515.
