Brooklyn Wallpaper Installation 11231
Red Hook might be called Brooklyn’s hidden gem from the land side. But, from the East River, it’s right out there, not at all hidden and serviced by the New York Waterway ferries and New York City Ferry Service. Originally a Dutch settlement, it was an important seaport in the 19th century. Now it boasts Texas BBQ, great Italian sandwiches at 100+-year-old Defonte’s and seafood at Red Hook Lobster Pound. The food, views, museum, history, chocolates, park and locally crafted wine and whiskey contribute to an upbeat, contemporary atmosphere.
One upbeat, contemporary, new resident wanted a bedroom in a Farrow and Ball deep blue paint with an accent wall for a creative flair. It seems fitting that where the Dutch made their home centuries ago, our client would choose Hague Blue No. 30 paint. The name reflects the Dutch’s penchant for dark blue woodwork, and Delft blue china and tile are symbols of Dutch identity.
We arrived at the residence before the client moved in and cleaned the walls and checked for and touched up any flaws before applying the wallpaper and paint. The wallpaper brings in a fanciful nature scene with birds, butterflies and flora on a creamy background. The matte blue paint exudes confidence and stability, exactly what we think are the personal traits of the new resident.
