Yorkville Grasscloth Wallpaper Installation 10028
Manhattan’s Yorkville neighborhood hugs the shoreline at the confluence of the East and Harlem Rivers. It is primarily residential with its western border of Third Avenue a retail mecca. Once home to farms and orchards, the area now boasts some of the most exquisite apartments. We were especially fortunate to land in a stunning high-rise with floor to ceiling corner windows.
The natural daylight flooding the home was ideal for the project – prepping walls for stylish wallpaper in the entryway, dramatic living room and bedroom. Some of the sheets came eight yards to the section, 36” wide. There’s some real skill and experience required to handle that, moving it about, applying the proper adhesive and smoothing it on a wall with nary a bubble or mishap.
Sisal grasscloth wallpaper offers a rich, organic aesthetic in these bright rooms. Subtle variations in color and weaving occur naturally for a distinct texture that cannot be duplicated with vinyl wallcoverings. It is eco-friendly and delivers a dignified blend of sophistication with an au naturel component.
