Restoring Walls after PTAC Removal in Columbia Street Waterfront District 11201
The Columbia Street Waterfront District is a small haven tucked in Brooklyn with old-style row houses and small parks and gardens. The view of the Manhattan skyline is captivating from the dockyards. Here, one homeowner was ready to say good-bye to an old floor unit and embrace newer PTAC technology in high up wall installations.
PTACs are ductless self-contained pieces for heating and/or cooling small areas, whereas traditional HVAC connects to myriad ducts, pipes and vents throughout a building or at least many rooms in a building. The PTACs are quite popular in hotel and B&B rooms, as well as small New York City spaces. This lady can now control each room for comfort as the temperature and mood strikes.
Once the electrician’s part of the project was completed and the three new units were installed, we arrived to patch everything up. That required some drywall, tape, plaster, primer and paint in several places. We arrived with ladders, tools, supplies and experienced carpenters. Our guys understand what needs to be done, how to accomplish it, and with what tools and products to restore the walls to pristine condition. They did it, and this homeowner enjoys comfort in every room in this sweet little neighborhood down near the docks.
