Exterior Power Washing
Cars go to a car wash for those high pressure water streams with soap, then rinse water, that leave the vehicle sparkling clean. You cannot take your building to a car wash, but you can have it power washed. Be advised right up front that a powerful burst of water can take off a finger, cause someone to fall off a ladder or startle the untrained operator into a personal injury. Unlike the do-it-yourself car washes, it’s not like waving a wand, and the building exterior is sparkling, too.
All exteriors are suitable for power washing and benefit with the removal of scum, mildew and dirt to better expose the exterior’s brick, vinyl, wood, aluminum or stucco. Power washing can also reveal imperfections and issues needing attention with compromised paint, seals, mortar and other exterior materials.
The Paintworks teams have extensive experience in the proper care and operation of heavy power washing equipment. Along with getting hurt with a power washer, which operates at a high psi (pounds per square inch) flow, you can seriously damage a building.
Our painting and power washing professionals are trained in handling power washing equipment, angling it away from windows and crevices, using appropriate nozzles and cleaning solutions, setting up scaffolding for stability and preserving your exterior material. We can also use low pressure washers and specially formulated cleaning products for some projects. Annual power washing is an excellent first step in exterior building maintenance.
