Wallpaper Installation in Upper West Side 10025
Originally an adjective, used like “mural paintings”, the word “mural” comes out of Latin “murus” meaning wall. It evolved into a noun in the early 20th century. Of course, early murals were handcrafted by cave dwellers and artists who decorated tombs and palaces. Today, the mural has taken a prominent place in interior home design. Between the Upper West Side and Morningside Heights, one finds the low-key neighborhood of Manhattan Valley, though it’s questionable how much of a valley exists there.

Splitting hairs aside, one clever homeowner decided a mural was the perfect accessory for an accent wall in the bedroom. A mural can, and does, transform a room in an afternoon, elevating the interior experience in myriad ways. One can install a city scape, though here you already live in that, unless you want the Eiffel Tower nearby. From rural landscapes, beach or ocean scenes, animals, deserts, flowers, Tuscany, people, waterfalls, silly to somber, soft to loud, there’s a mural out there for you.

Here we cleaned and prepared the wall before installing a peaceful scene, replete with tall trees, a waterfall, rocks and an ombre sky from dark blue above to the pale peach horizon. Any project like this takes a precision approach to parallel and level with every component in the mural lining up perfectly. This sleepyhead doesn’t need to look far for the tranquility of Mother Nature.
