Upper West Side Accent Walls and Wood Box Paneling 10025

Our interior décor and surroundings can have a big impact on our mood, quality of life, productivity and happiness. For one client, sleeping by night and working by day in this Upper West Side multi-use bedroom space, meant restyling the walls in the sharpest of contrasts – black and white. Installing interior trim on the headboard accent wall adds a touch of luxury, especially when monochromatic in Benjamin Moore’s “Black Iron” paint. This is complemented on the other walls with “Swiss Coffee”, a darker-than-normal off-white paint with a warm undertone.

We prep everything, starting with protecting e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g., before setting up ladders, popping the paint cans, and pulling out our rollers and brushes. Not forgetting about the view above, we painted the bedroom ceiling with Chantilly Lace. Benjamin Moore calls this “a classic go-to white that elicits images of fresh cotton and pure silk.”

Before

In keeping with the light neutrals, we painted the living room walls in Ballet White coats of paint, another warm off-white. The homeowner then embraces the freedom to add vibrant colors through art, which is precisely what happened. More wall molding on a lower wall, also in a monochromatic theme, adds the kind of sophisticated grace and beauty one expects to find in the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
