Picture Rail, Molding and Pocket Door Renovation 10025

One of the most attractive residential streets, Riverside Drive, runs harmoniously alongside the Hudson River. A 1915 bronze sculpture of Joan of Arc on horseback stands just over 20 feet tall at the intersection with 93rd Street. It includes fragments from the cell where she was imprisoned. The architectural styles of beaux arts and art deco have been meticulously preserved, and it was in one of these marvelous homes that our carpentry skills and painting expertise were recently showcased.

Doors serve many purposes with sound blocking and visual closure among them. This client wanted natural light and the ability to see into rooms on each side of the door. So we installed three identical, parallel, vertical glass panes in the door which provided privacy and light, a sweet combination.

Our expert team also installed and painted the picture rail and panel molding, both of which add a refined quality to interior décor. The living room walls and new wall trim were then prepped and painted with Benjamin Moore’s OC-72, Pink Damask, part of its extensive off-white collection. It presents a soft, sophisticated neutral with a wee trace of pink.
